Orlando news: Five festive theme park events to enjoy this month
The month of October is always jam-packed with festive fun at Orlando’s best theme parks, and this year is no different.
Jump into the fun and celebrate everything that Halloween has to offer: costumes, scares, parties, and more.
Here, Florida News Blitz writer Joseph Hannen looks at five theme park events to check out this month.
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort
This is the only Halloween event I have personally experienced, so my ranking may be biased, but it's too good to miss for both locals and holidaymakers.
The event began on August 29 and runs until November 2, so don't worry - there’s plenty of time to make it.
Prepare to come face-to-face with terrifying characters around the park as you navigate towards your favourite haunted house attractions, inspired by cinematic classics.
If that's not enough, Halloween Horror Nights also provides sinister scare zones, live entertainment, themed food and drinks, and excellent exclusive merchandise.
Tickets start at around $78, and I highly recommend giving this a try.
Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando
Howl-O-Scream returned for its fifth consecutive year in September, with the event taking place on 28 specific nights until November 1.
SeaWorld’s bone-chilling event is unleashing a new wave of unexpected horrors and screams around every corner, keeping guests on their toes at all times.
The event features five haunted houses, six scare zones, electrifying live shows and parties, thrilling dark rides, and more.
It’s an event built for the brave. Do you have what it takes to survive the night?
Tickets start at $51 on the SeaWorld website, making it a cheaper alternative to Halloween Horror Nights.

EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival
Switching up the vibes for the middle of this list, as EPCOT welcomes you on a culinary adventure across six continents until November 22.
The festival features 35 global marketplaces with diverse offerings from around the world, situated throughout the park.
Extra features include a fun scavenger hunt to find Remy around the World Showcase, as well as unique, festival-exclusive souvenirs and collectibles.
Don’t miss the ‘Eat to the Beat’ concert series, where you can enjoy live performances at the American Gardens on select Fridays through Mondays.
The best part? There’s no extra cost; your standard park ticket allows you to explore and enjoy every offering at the Food & Wine Festival.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
There was no chance that the iconic Magic Kingdom would be left off this list, and this year's event runs until October 31.
Witness a masquerade of characters as your favourite rides bring additional spooky effects, frightening music, and much more.
Keep an eye on the skies, as you won't want to miss the Halloween spectacular with fireworks and lasers.
Enjoy Halloween cuisine, dance parties, and a Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at a party fit for all ages.
Tickets begin at $119 plus tax and will vary by event date.
SeaWorld Spooktacular
Finishing the list back at SeaWorld, this time for their child-based, family-friendly Halloween event.
This daytime event features kid-friendly characters, trick-or-treating, immersive activities, and a variety of other fun activities for the little ones to enjoy.
There is also family entertainment and decorated trails, with children encouraged to wear their own Halloween costumes.
Similar to EPCOT’s festival, this event is included with your regular park admission.
