Orlando News: Universal Studios top seven attractions and roller coasters
Universal Studios Orlando was the Universal Resort's first park opening back in 1990, and it's completely themed around show business.
From classic films like James Bond and E.T., to more modern favourites like The Simpsons and Harry Potter, Universal Studios offers entertainment and thrills to every generation.
Last year's opening of DreamWorks Land gave the park a much-needed boost to its children's attractions, but now the park faces the monumental task of replacing the iconic Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster, which is set to close this year.
Here, Florida News Blitz writer Joseph Hannen provides a ranking of the top seven attractions and roller coasters to enjoy while visiting.
Race through New York starring Jimmy Fallon
This could be the most controversial pick on the list, but personally, there was no way I could leave out Jimmy Fallon and his hectic race around New York.
This 3D simulator takes riders through the history of The Tonight Show whilst racing Jimmy Fallon in a fun and enthralling experience.
I especially enjoy the visuals on this ride, as well as the theming and overall vibe whilst racing deep into the Concrete jungle.
Whilst I wouldn't prioritise this over many of Universal Studios' best attractions, I would always look out for low wait times which this ride tends to see throughout the day.
E.T. Adventure
The very popular attraction, E.T. Adventure, slots in at sixth, as E.T. needs your help to save his dying planet.
This kid-friendly attraction is one of the park's last opening-day attractions still operating, which in itself adds an extra nostalgic feel.
The immersive feeling while riding perfectly captures what Universal Studios intended to create back in 1990; of course, a technical update could be beneficial, but the old-school vibe really does hit guests in the right place.
Its most significant setback, however, is its reliability. I have seen E.T. go down on occasion whilst visiting, so keep an eye out if you want to take a ride.

The Simpsons Ride
I think The Simpson Ride marks the beginning of the 'must ride' territory at Universal Studios.
The highlight of the highly engrossing Simpsons section of the park, this ride guarantees a thrilling simulation experience that is likely to defy your expectations.
Riders will dash and blast through Krustyland with Homer and the family on this chaotic experience, which is suitable for younger children.
The Simpsons rarely appealed to me growing up, but that never stopped me from getting excited to ride this attraction on every visit, and I'd urge all first-time visitors to consider this when visiting.
Keep in mind that queue times can become relatively high, so keep a close eye throughout the day.
Men In Black Alien Attack
For me, Universal Studios' most underrated attraction, Men in Black, is an absolute must-do for families and friends who love competition.
All riders are equipped with a laser gun and a simple task: blast as many aliens as possible around New York City. At the same time, your vehicle does intense 360-degree spins.
As your score is tracked, make sure you beat everyone in your party to claim the bragging rights.
You won't find the highest or lowest queues here, so be sure to allow enough time to ride, as Men in Black is unmissable family fun.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
The first of what I consider Universal Studios' big three attractions, the escape from Gringotts slots in third.
Located right at the back of Diagon Alley, the surrounding area and queue line instantly build up the excitement of this 3D roller coaster.
Embark on a journey deep underground and come face to face with your favourite Harry Potter characters as you take on Voldemort and Bellatrix.
This action-packed, dramatic, multidimensional attraction is a favourite of many visitors, and for good reason.
Queues are usually high, but if you happen to visit during a Halloween horror night, be sure to take advantage of the incredibly low wait times.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
As disappointed as I am to see this ride close in August, it is the right time for something new and improved.
Despite this, I find the Rip Ride Rockit to be comfortably one of the top two attractions here, even though I know that visitors will either love or hate this attraction.
It's unpopular, but I enjoy the vertical lift hill, and the fact riders can pick music to play during the ride certainly boosts the adrenaline.
As the years have passed, the Rip Ride Rocket has struggled with reliability and can no longer be considered a smooth experience, but that shouldn't detract from the thrills it will provide for a couple more months.
A personal bonus is the view you can get before the main drop, although I can only assume most riders are too focused on what's upcoming.
Revenge of the Mummy
I have always loved this attraction, but only after my last visit has it recently risen to the top of my personal rankings.
Revenge of the Mummy has everything an indoor roller coaster needs: moments of speed and intensity, the sense of not knowing what's next, and engaging theming and visuals.
Needless to say, riders can expect a lot of darkness, fire, and an army of mummies along the way.
I don't think it reaches the world-class level of Velocicoaster and Hagrid's bikes in Islands of Adventure, but it's the best ride in Studios and rivals the Hulk coaster for a top three spot across the two connected parks.
You can expect to see a fairly consistent wait time throughout the day, but if any ride deserves a longer wait, it's the Revenge of the Mummy.
