Orlando news: EPCOT’s top seven attractions to see and do

Opening on October 1, 1982, EPCOT, the abbreviation for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, is a truly unique theme park with much to offer.

EPCOT celebrates worldwide cultures, flavours, and nature while also offering innovative attractions and in-depth scientific exploration.

Find seasonal festivals, ground-breaking attractions, and what I consider Disney's greatest ride across its four major parks here at EPCOT.

Quick disclaimer: Test Track won't be included in this list due to it being closed; however, if it were, it would likely creep into my top three.

Here, Florida News Blitz writer Joseph Hannen ranks the seven best things to do while visiting Walt Disney World's EPCOT.

Grand Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

Kicking off the list is the Grand Fiesta Tour boat ride, found in the Mexico pavilion of the World Showcase.

An attraction suitable for all ages; sit back and relax as you pass through the wonders and sights of Mexico.

The Three Caballeros, Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito Pistoles, will be with you every step of the way, causing their usual chaos.

It's an attraction that always sees minimal queues, and it has always been a must-do on each of my previous visits over the years.

Mission Space

A good, but not EPCOT's best simulation ride, is next; Mission Space delivers a thrilling NASA-themed space mission where guests can choose between two levels of intensity.

The higher intensity option takes riders to Mars, whereas the more tame option rides through the stars of space.

Riders can enjoy interactive features as they endure G-forces up to 2.5g in their action-packed simulations.

Mission Space has been in operation for over 20 years and remains strong to this day, with wait times typically on the low side.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

A highly welcomed addition to EPCOT in 2021 was Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, a dark ride that I find highly enjoyable but slightly below the hype surrounding it.

This 4D experience zips and scurries around a hectic kitchen from Chef Remy's eyes using impressive visuals and technology.

Comfortably the busiest ride at EPCOT before Guardians of the Galaxy switched to a standing queue; therefore, riders should constantly check on the wait time, which rarely drops below an hour.

Despite this, I still recommend that guests make time to ride, as it's an entertaining experience that isn't too intense for both younger and older visitors.

Spaceship Earth

An unmissable and iconic attraction at EPCOT is next; Spaceship Earth is an educational ride that takes you through all of human history.

The animatronics still impress to this day, although the ride could benefit from a narration revamp.

Spaceship Earth is the perfect attraction to unwind and delve into the history of the world as we know it.

The attraction taking place within the legendary golf ball further boosts its credit as one of EPCOT's top rides.

With its central location and low queue times, Spaceship Earth is, for me, a must-do for all visitors.

Soarin' Around the World

For all my years of visiting, my lack of attention towards this ride was one of my biggest mistakes.

Soarin' is a beautiful simulator ride where riders fly around the world, passing over some of the most iconic and stunning places on Earth.

African Savannas, the Great Wall of China, and South America's Iguazu Falls are just a few of the many sights you will glide over.

I urge all guests to make time for Soarin' as it is EPCOT's best simulator and one of its leading park rides.

World Showcase

Considering it occupies around half of the park's 305 acres of land, the World Showcase is impossible to miss for all visitors.

The 1.2-mile walk passes 11 country pavilions, all offering unique cuisines and traditions for visitors to learn and enjoy.

Some countries offer more activities and food options; however, I encourage all guests to explore every country along the way thoroughly.

For me, the highlights are Mexico, China, and France, as I find them the most engaging and fun.

Whether you need a break from the more intense attractions or you're fascinated by what the

World Showcase has to offer, it is inexcusable to miss out.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy is elite, and it has a strong argument of being Disney's best ride across the four major parks.

This high-speed dark roller coaster ride twists and spins riders as well as launches you backward for an unforgettable experience.

This marquee attraction, which opened in 2022, has put EPCOT back into the conversation as one of Disney's most incredible theme parks.

As of February 25, 2025, Guardians no longer uses a virtual queue; therefore, you can expect high standing wait times.

However, I can guarantee it is worth the lengthy wait; I firmly believe Guardians of the Galaxy is Disney's best attraction, and you don't even need to be interested in the television series.
